A disgraced streamer desperate for redemption accepts a viral dare: broadcast a night alone in a notoriously haunted house. But the spirit inhabiting the property has no interest in being content for his comeback. As digital pranks blur into genuine supernatural terror, the line between entertainment and death grows perilously thin.
Vanessa Winter decouples found-footage from authenticity's false promise: *Deadstream* treats the streaming broadcast not as evidence but as performance, collapsing the boundary between persona and flesh. Joseph Winter's influencer—live-streaming from a haunted location—discovers that curation itself is the horror; he cannot edit his way out, cannot restart the narrative.
