A meticulous crematorium operator in post-war Czechoslovakia lives a quiet, solitary existence. Consumed by obsessive rituals and a twisted philosophy of death and purification, he gradually descends into psychological delusion. As his professional detachment erodes, his mundane routine becomes a facade for something far darker, revealing a mind locked in pathological justification for escalating cruelty.
