Encounters of the Spooky Kind

Sammo Hung plays an ordinary man thrust into a supernatural conflict between vengeful spirits and exorcists. Wrongly accused of a crime, he navigates a world of hostile ghosts, bizarre rituals, and spectral combat. This hybrid marries slapstick comedy with folk horror, blending acrobatic kung-fu and otherworldly creatures in a dizzying display of practical effects and stunt work. A signature Hong Kong genre film that channels shamanic cinema with exuberant action sequences and pagan dread, showcasing how playfulness and terror coexist in exploitation filmmaking.
