An underrated British horror gem with a devastating ending The Borderlands starts with surprisingly grounded character work and dry British humor, which makes everything feel believable from the start. As the Vatican investigation inside a remote rural church unfolds, the atmosphere slowly turns oppressive. The film relies less on jump scares and more on mounting unease, helped tremendously by its excellent sound design. Then comes the ending. Bold, claustrophobic, and deeply unsettling, it delivers one of the most unforgettable finales in modern found footage horror.
